Mary, Queen of Scots spent six months here in 1568-1569 and it was held for the King during the Civil War. The Castle has Civil Wedding, Drinks and Entertainments licenses. We have a capacity for up to 240 inside, although the maximum in a single room is 120.The Great Chamber, which retains all of its original character and charm will seat up to 120 people at tables and with a log fire burning, creates the perfect atmosphere to celebrate such an important occasion. At Bolton Castle you enjoy exclusive use of the Castle and medieval gardens and be able to treat it as your own.
